Casual and Comfortable Memorial Day Outfit

Between an early movie and a day in the park, this was the perfect outfit for those days when you need to do a lot of different things and you need that extra comfort for walking, playing, jumping etc. I love the I.N.C. jacket that I purchased at Macy's and the Source of Wisdom jeans from Torrid are by far the most comfortable and well-fitted pants I own. I paired them with my favorite flats from Payless, which are extremely comfortable, and a polkadots top that is light as air.  Overall, today was a very relaxing day for me and I'm sure for many of you too.

Entre ir al cine temprano y una tarde en el parque, este fue el atuendo mas conveniente para esos días que tienes que hacer muchas cosas diferentes en un solo día. Como el clima había estado un poco frió decidí ponerme este saco de la marca INC junto con mis jeans preferidos, los Source of Wisdom de Torrid. También use mis zapatos favoritos de Payless y una playera con puntitos de Forever21+. En conclusion, todo el atuendo fue muy ligero y cómodo.  El agregar unos accesorios extras le dio un toque mas chic. Espero que ustedes hallan tenido un lindo día de Memorial Day si es que lo festejan y si conmemoran a amigos/familiares/conocidos que forman parte de nuestras fuerzas armadas! :D

Who doesn’t like fashion reality shows? I love them! Model Latina South Beach is a fun modeling competition where ten Latinas compete for a generous cash prize and a modeling contract. Model Latina South Beach is now on its 5^th season and it is ready to launch on May 28^th. This season promise’s to be filled with new and fun challenges that will keep us entertained.

THE JUDGES

And if that was not enough, four awesome judges host the show; Carlos Ponce, Ines Rivero, Franco Lacosta and Jocelyn Pierce. Carlos Ponce is a famous Puerto-Rican soap opera actor and singer. He was also a Miss Universe former host and a very attractive man. Ines Rivero is an Argentinian supermodel that began her career at the age of fourteen. She is also a Victoria’s Secret Angel who will guide and inspire the ten aspiring models. Franco Lacosta is a former model and a photographer. He has photographed for Elle and French Vogue and has collaborated in numerous campaigns including campaigns from Chanel and Dior. His experience as a model and photographer makes him a guru in the fashion industry, but also a feared judge that is vocal and very demanding of the participants. I can’t wait to hear his advice! Jocelyn Pierce, on the other hand, is a Puerto Rican model that has worked for Dereon, Baby Phat, Rocawear, among others. She is also a sports reporter and correspondent of the NFL Network and E! News. Her experience in sports and fashion battles will make her the perfect referee for this season’s catwalk wars.

A quien no le gustan los reality shows de modelaje? A mi me encantan. Modelo Latina South Beach estrena su quinta temporada este Lunes 28 de Mayo. Este programa es un reality de competencia donde diez chicas competirán por una generosa suma de dinero y un contrato de modelaje. Esta nueva temporada promete estar llena de nuevos y mucho mas difíciles retos que los de las temporadas pasadas.

Y por si fuera poco, el show será dirigido por cuatro expertos; el guapísimo Carlos Ponce, Inés Rivero, Franco Lacosta y Jocelyn Pierce. Carlos Ponce, por si no lo conoces, es un actor y cantante Puertorriqueño. Ha salido en varias telenovelas y ha sido el anfitrión en Miss Universo. Inés Rivero es una supermodelo Argentina que comenzó su carrera en las pasarelas a los catorce años. Inés es también una modelo para la línea de lencería mas famosa de Estados Unidos, Victoria’s Secret.  Franco Lacosta fue un modelo y ahora se dedica a fotografiar para revistas como Elle y French Vogue. También ha colaborado en muchas campañas de moda, incluyendo campañas de Chanel y Dior. Su experiencia como modelo y fotógrafo lo hace ser un gurú de la moda y pasarelas, lo cual lo hace ser muy demandante con las participantes de Model Latina South Beach. Jocelyn Pierce es una modelo Puertorriqueña que ha trabajado con marcas como Dereon, Baby Phat, Rocawear y otras. Pierce también es una reportera para NFL Network y E! News. Su experiencia en deportes y en el modelaje la hace el arbitro perfecto para las batallas campales que seguro se llevaran acabo en esta competencia.

As plus size women we are often afraid to use color. Many of us hide behind black because it makes us look thiner and we can be a little bit less body conscious; however, as has been my experience, using black on a regular basis takes the fun out of your outfit and life. I used to dress ONLY in black for a long time, and I can honestly tell you that moving away from it has made me feel more "alive." The vivid colors automatically make me feel happier and they give more life to my face. Yes, those colors are not as forgiving, but if we learn to love our body and ourselves then we can wear any color we like and feel comfortable. 

Today, I wanted to wear my blue blazer by Vince Camuto, but I didn't want to go the safe route and wear it with black pants; therefore, I decided that I wanted to use my pink skinnies from Forever21, and to complement it, I wore a black cami underneath.

Muchas de nosotras que somos chicas "plus" estamos aterradas de usar color. La mayoría nos escondemos tras prendas negras porque nos hacen ver mas delgadas y esconden muchas de nuestras imperfecciones; sin embargo, usar negro constantemente puede ser algo muy deprimente. Hace años yo era esa chica. Utilizaba prendas negras casi a diario y les puedo decir que el día que  empece a utilizar color me sentí mucho mejor. Los colores vivos automáticamente me hicieron sentir mejor y me cambiaron el semblante de mi cara. Claro, los colores "vivos" no son muy "discretos" que digamos y no esconden nuestro peso, pero si aprendes a querer a tu cuerpo y a ti misma entonces cualquier color que utilices te hará sentir bien. 

Por eso mismo el día de hoy decidí estrenar mi saco azul de Vince Camuto. Al principio quería utilizarlo con unos jeans negros, pero después me dije: "por que no usarlo con unos jeans rosas?" Aunque los dos colores son muy fuertes creo que se complementan bien. Ustedes que piensan?

✰My Experience With: ASOS Curve✰

ASOS is a online retailer that distributes to the UK, USA, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Australia. ASOS sells a diverse amount of brands, and they also have their own brand. I discovered ASOS through watching videos on Youtube from many popular gurus, but I never saw any plus-size hauls or reviews that talked about ASOS; therefore, I thought it was only targeted to "regular" size women and men. To my surprise, I recently discovered the Curve line from ASOS and I fell in love. I really like the styles that they offer. Their clothing is on trend and super stylish. 

Despite that, I was a little bit hesitant to oder because I wasn't sure how everything was going to fit and the fact that I do not have a physical store made me a little apprehensive. However, a few weeks ago I decided I was going to take the risk and make my first purchased. I purchased the Exclusive Peplum Jacket, Pastel Metal Keeper Super Skinny Belt, and a pair of clearance coral pants. I'm not going to lie, I was afraid nothing would fit and that I wouldn't like the cut; however, when the package arrived and I tried everything, I was pleasantly surprised. The belt and the pants were true to size. The Coral pants were stretchy and fit perfectly from the tummy area. I cannot wait to try them. The Jacket, on the other hand, did not close; however, I did like the cut, the style, and the material used to make it. If you have an eye on that jacket, I would suggest to wear a size up. 

Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase. Even though the Jacket did not fit, ASOS has free shipping and returns; therefore, I feel a little bit more comfortable ordering more from them.

***UPDATE*** 

On the Jeans: The fit when I tried them on was great; however, they did get loose as I wore them. I think that next time I will oder a size smaller. In the meantime, I hope to solve the problem by getting them "tailored" (by my mom lol) from the inner thigh. I hope that works!

ASOS es una tienda en linea que distribuye a El Reino Unido, Estados Unidos, Francia, Alemania, España, Italia y Australia. Venden distintas marcas al igual que su propia linea de ropa y accesorios para dama y caballeros. Yo descubri a ASOS mirando videos de compras de las chicas delgadas. La verdad no pensaba que vendieran ropa "plus" pero ase poco descubri que ASOS tiene una linea llamada ASOS Curve, la cual esta dedicada a las chicas de talla 16 a 22. 

Sin embrago, tenia un poco de miedo ordenar de su sitio ya que no sabia como seria el corte de la ropa, ni la calidad de la tela; pero, hace unas semanas decidí arriesgarme y quede muy satisfecha. Compre un saco llamado Exclusive Peplum Jacket, un cinturón en tono verde pastel (Pastel Metal Keeper Super Skinny Belt), y un par de jean en color coral que estava en venta final. Los pantalones, que eran los que mas me preocupaban por que es con lo que mas batallo, me quedaron super bien. La tela es stretch y no me dejan un "muffin-top," es decir que no me sacan pansa. El cinturón me quedo perfecto. Puedo decir que el cinturón y el pantalon son "true to size," osea que vienen del tamaño estándar. Sin embargo, el saco si viene reducido. Si alguna de ustedes esta pensando en comprar ese saco, u otros de ASOS, tal vez sea recomendable comprar una talla mas grande. 

En conclusion, quede muy contenta con mi compra. Aunque el saco no me quedo, me encanta que tienen envío y devolución GRATIS! Eso hace que me den mas ganas de comprar ya que no pago envío y si no me queda, no pago para regresarlo.

ACTUALIZACIÓN

Los jeans de color coral me quedaron perfectos cuando me los probe; sin embargo, cuando los use se aguadaron un poco después de unas horas. Definitivamente, la próxima vez ordenare una tallas mas abajo. En si me gusto mucho la calidad de la ropa, el color, y como se me miraba. Lo unico malo es que se aguadaron un poco pero espero poder arreglarlos metiendole un poco del area de la pierna!

Hola. En este episodio de "Confesiones del Vestidor" les muestro lo que me prove en la tienda Macy's. Como les conte en el post pasado, ese dia me dedique a buscar un vestido para una boda a la que asistiré. Ninguno de los vestidos que aqui muestro me gustaron. Siento que no hicieron nada por beneficiar mi figura :(
