How I Style Neon: A Plus Size Outfit

Neon is one of the most famous trends of spring and summer, but for many of us it can be a bit overwhelming. In this post I show you how I style two neon colors, green and orange/coral. This Alfani jacket is a perfect way to use neon without feeling overwhelmed. Neon es una de las tendencias mas populares de la temporada primavera/verano, pero para muchas, especialmente las que nos escondemos en colores neutros y obscuros, puede ser un poco difícil de usar. En esta entrada les muestro como yo utilizo esos colores. El saco de Alfani que aquí muestro es perfecto para las que queremos usar el color neón de una manera mas discreta. Chill Day: Plus Size Casual Outfit

Now that my vacations are close to ending I decided to take some time to enjoy my last days of mental relaxation. Today I decided to take my dog, companion, and joy, Vicky (a chihuahua mixed with dachshund) to the park and decided to take a couple of impromptu pictures. What do you like to do to relax? Where do you love to escape?

Ahora que mis vacaciones están cerca de terminar decidí tomar un poco de tiempo para realmente disfrutar mis últimos días de relajación mental. Hoy decidí llevar a mi perrita, compañera, y pedazo de felicidad, Vicky (una chihuahua cruzada con "Salchicha") a caminar al parque. Estando allí, decidí tomar algunas fotos improvisadas. ✿ Torrid's New Color Jeans✿

I was so excited to see that Torrid had launched new color jeans. Although I love Torrid, I have to admit that their previous intents to create good color denim pants did not work. My dream color jeans would be a mix between the Source of Wisdom Virtual Stretch and these jeans by Denim Licious.

When I went to the store and touched them for the first time, the fabric was very soft and stretchy; however, when I tried them on, I was not that happy. The back pocket made my back look weird and the fit from the stomach area was not great. It was tight and gave me a huge muffin top. When I tried a size up, the pants were baggy from the back (butt) and thigh area.

If these jeans would be a little bit more stretchy from the waist area and if they loose the pocket design, they would have been wonderful. With that said, this pants did not work for me; however, If you are not middle-section heavy, and you have more bottom, this pants would probably work great. You might be able to fill them in nicely. Remember, every body is different. So, if you haven't tried out these jeans, I recommend that you go to your closest Torrid and try them out. They retail for $39.50 (which is very affordable for Torrid) and the fabric is very breathable and comfortable.

Cuando mire que Torrid saco nuevos pantalones de color me emocione muchisimo, ya que es muy difícil encontrar buenos pantalones de color para chicas gorditas. Aunque amo a Torrid, tengo que admitir que en el pasado no me han convencido sus pantalones de color ya que los hacen de tela muy "dura" y gruesa que no se amolda a mi cuerpo. Creo que mi pantalón de color perfecto seria uno que tuviera las mismas características que los pantalones Virtual Stretch de Source of Widsom pero con los colores de la marca Denim Licious. 

Denim Licious es una linea nueva que se acaba de integrar a Torrid. Cuando la mire en linea me emocione mucho y hace unos días me di una vuelta por mi tienda Torrid mas sercana para ver si esta vez Torrid le atinaba. Cuando toque la tela, me enamore. Era suave y muy stretch, pero al medirme los pantalones me di cuenta que el área de la cintura no estiraba mucho así que me saco mucha panza. Aparte, el diseño de la bolsa de la parte trasera no me ayudo mucho a mi tipo de cuerpo. Cuando me medí una talla mas grande me quedo bien de la cintura pero me quedo muy aguado de las piernas. 

Si estos pantalones fuera un poco mas stretch del área de la cintura, y si no tuvieran ese estilo de bolsa en la parte de atrás, hubieran estado geniales. Estos pantalones no funcionaron para mi pero, si tienes mas cadera y menos panza quizás si puedas llenar un poco mejor estos pantalones. Ya ven, cada cuerpo es diferente. Como les dije, me gusto mucho la tela ya que es ligera y stretch y los colores están muy bonitos. Asi que les recomiendo que visiten su tienda Torrid mas serrana y se los prueben, quizás a ustedes si les funcionen. Con un precio de $39.50 son una muy buena opción.

As plus size women we are often afraid to use color. Many of us hide behind black because it makes us look thiner and we can be a little bit less body conscious; however, as has been my experience, using black on a regular basis takes the fun out of your outfit and life. I used to dress ONLY in black for a long time, and I can honestly tell you that moving away from it has made me feel more "alive." The vivid colors automatically make me feel happier and they give more life to my face. Yes, those colors are not as forgiving, but if we learn to love our body and ourselves then we can wear any color we like and feel comfortable. 

Today, I wanted to wear my blue blazer by Vince Camuto, but I didn't want to go the safe route and wear it with black pants; therefore, I decided that I wanted to use my pink skinnies from Forever21, and to complement it, I wore a black cami underneath.

Muchas de nosotras que somos chicas "plus" estamos aterradas de usar color. La mayoría nos escondemos tras prendas negras porque nos hacen ver mas delgadas y esconden muchas de nuestras imperfecciones; sin embargo, usar negro constantemente puede ser algo muy deprimente. Hace años yo era esa chica. Utilizaba prendas negras casi a diario y les puedo decir que el día que  empece a utilizar color me sentí mucho mejor. Los colores vivos automáticamente me hicieron sentir mejor y me cambiaron el semblante de mi cara. Claro, los colores "vivos" no son muy "discretos" que digamos y no esconden nuestro peso, pero si aprendes a querer a tu cuerpo y a ti misma entonces cualquier color que utilices te hará sentir bien. 

Por eso mismo el día de hoy decidí estrenar mi saco azul de Vince Camuto. Al principio quería utilizarlo con unos jeans negros, pero después me dije: "por que no usarlo con unos jeans rosas?" Aunque los dos colores son muy fuertes creo que se complementan bien. Ustedes que piensan?

Holaaaaa! Pues hace mucho que no actualizo este blog y eso se debe a que ya estoy en exámenes y proyectos finales y eso, combinado con el trabajo, me tienen súper mega ocupada. Aparte, también empece a actualizar mi cuarto y mis días libres me dedique a eso. Pero bueno, el día de hoy decidí estrenas mis pantalones azules. Lo combine con mi blusa favorita de encaje y unos flats en tono "nude."

Hellooooo! Well, It's been a long time (or so it seems) since I updated this blog. Honestly, final exams and work have kept me really busy and have prevented me from taking pictures for the blog. In addition, I've also begun to update my bedroom and the little time I had left I dedicated to that. However, today I wanted to show you how I wear my color denim on a casual day. I decided to pair my jeans with my favorite lace top and some nude flats.
